Frequently asked questions
When can I change my benefits?
The only time you may change your benefits outside of the Open Enrollment timeframe is if you have a qualifying life event, which is a change in your situation like getting married, having a baby, or losing health coverage, which will make you eligible for a Special Enrollment Period.
You MUST process any changes online in UltiPro within 30 days of the event. If you have difficulties enrolling, email or call Rebecca Gebelein, our Employee Advocate at Lacher.
HSA election can be changed at any time throughout the year! Obtain a form from HR or Rebecca.
You may also change benefits at Open Enrollment (typically in November) for changes effective January 1.
Who is an eligible dependent on ABC's benefit plans?
Eligible dependents include: (1) Your legal spouse; (2) your children under the age of 26. Only those dependents who meet the eligibility requirements can enroll for coverage.
Please note: if your spouse is employed and is offered medical coverage by his/her employer, they are not eligible for coverage under the ABC plan.
I need to submit a Short-Term Disability claim – what do I need to do?
You can submit your claim over the phone by calling Guardian at 1-888-262-5670. Their hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-8pm EST.
Once your claim is submitted, Guardian will reach out to your Physician and to ABC to obtain further information on your disability.
The process can take several weeks, so we advise you to start as soon as you know of an upcoming disability.
What is a premium?
